Shinty Sticks and Camans

Shinty is a small sport with a long memory, and the caman is a particular thing to make. BHK International has manufactured sporting equipment since 1986, and shinty is one of the disciplines we produce for alongside field hockey, roller hockey, bandy and croquet.

Camans made to order

We do not hold a standing shinty catalogue. Camans are produced to your specification — send a drawing, a set of dimensions or an existing stick as a sample, and we will make to it. Head shape, shaft length, taper and balance are yours to set.

Construction

We work in wood, laminated wood, carbon and fibreglass. Laminated construction is something we already do in our rounders range, where two contrasting woods are bonded and finished, and the same technique carries across to camans where a laminated shaft is wanted.

Why order from a manufacturer

Shinty runs on small volumes, and most suppliers are resellers buying from somewhere else. We make in our own plants in Jalandhar, which means you deal directly with the people shaping the stick — and there is no margin stacked in between.

Samples before bulk

For a sport this specific, getting the stick right matters more than getting it fast. We will make a sample to your specification so you can put it in a player’s hands before you commit to a quantity.
